Power Factor Relay

Power Factor Relay - Switchgear components supplier in Bangladesh

Automatic controller that switches PFI capacitor steps.

A power factor relay, or APFC controller, is the brain of a PFI plant. It measures the power factor continuously and switches capacitor steps in and out through contactors to keep the power factor close to the target as the load changes.

Available ratings

6 Stages, 12 Stages

Where it is used

  • Automatic PFI plants in factories

  • Hospitals and large apartment buildings
  • Upgrading old manual capacitor panels

How to choose

  • Number of steps: 6 or 12, depending on the number of capacitor stages.

Why buy from Unique Quality Engineering

Frequently asked questions

What target power factor should I set?

Most industries aim for 0.95 to 0.99, above the minimum level set in the utility tariff.

Why does the relay switch capacitors in and out often?

Steps that are too large, wrong CT position or short delay settings can cause hunting. Correct sizing and settings fix this.

Can I add a relay to an existing capacitor panel?

Yes. We can upgrade a manual or faulty PFI panel with a new automatic relay and contactors.
