ATS Panel

An ATS (auto changeover switch) panel switches the load to a backup source, such as a generator, when the main supply fails, and back again when it returns. No one has to change over by hand, which cuts the risk of downtime, data loss and damage to equipment.

How to choose

• Current rating equal to the generator or load current (about 1.39 A per kVA at 415 V).
• Switching devices: contactors for small ratings, motorised MCCBs or ACBs for large ones.
• Controller features: generator auto-start, adjustable delays, load shedding.
• Interlocking: mechanical and electrical, so both sources never connect together.
