High Tension Switchgear [HT]

HT (high tension) switchgear connects, isolates and protects the high-voltage part of a power system, normally the 11 kV incoming supply of a factory or building substation.

It keeps the system running safely and without interruption, and has a direct effect on the quality of the electricity supplied to everything downstream.

Typically includes

• Vacuum circuit breaker (VCB) incomer and outgoing feeders
• Current and potential transformers (CT/PT) for metering
• Protection relays, meters and indication
